Be honest

When did you last actually check?

When did you last run a full DVLA licence check across every driver?

1.2 million UK drivers carry live penalty points. Without continuous monitoring you won't know until an incident, or an audit, forces the question.

A driver picks up a disqualification on Tuesday. When would you find out?

There is no automatic notification. The liability is yours from the moment they keep driving.

Is your HR software merely used as a drop box?

Right to Work and DVLA documents get uploaded once and filed away. They sit in folders while the compliance risk keeps moving.

Could you produce a clean, audit-ready record for every driver right now?

A regulator or insurer will not wait while you dig through spreadsheets.

Why it matters

The exposure is already on the road.

Licence monitoring1.2 million

UK drivers carry active penalty points. Without continuous DVLA monitoring, you won't know until it's too late.

Disqualification risk146,000

drivers are one offence from a ban, and their employer gets no automatic notification.

Right to Work fines£45,000

maximum penalty per worker for a first Right to Work breach. Enforcement visits are up 48% year on year.

On the horizonOct 2026

Right to Work checks extend to agency drivers and subcontractors under the Border Security Act. The obligation is already yours. The deadline isn't.

How our clients use Xertilox

Continuous compliance and HR, built for your workforce.

Toggle between the compliance platform and Xertilox HR to see how each works for your sector, or run both as one connected workflow.

Compliance wallet & platform

Run vetting and DVLA monitoring on its own, no HR system required. Your team requests, reviews and approves every check in one portal, and each driver keeps a reusable verified wallet on their phone. Identity, Right to Work and daily DVLA checks all land on one record.

  • The full platform, not just an API, with no integration project to start
  • Identity and document verification with facial liveness built in
  • Right to Work checks, including online share code verification for UK and non-UK nationals
  • Most checks verified in around 60 seconds
  • A reusable wallet the driver owns and reuses for every check
  • DVLA licence and endorsement re-checks on the schedule you set
  • A complete, paperless solution: a full compliance record is stored in the platform with every check, so no more PDFs filed away on the K drive
  • Helps protect your business from civil fines, which can reach up to £60,000 per illegal worker, by securing a statutory excuse against the penalty

Questions

What operators ask us.

How does DVLA licence monitoring actually work?

Drivers consent once, then Xertilox checks their licence and endorsement status with the DVLA on the schedule you set. You get an alert before anything becomes a problem, fed straight onto the driver record.

Do drivers need to download an app?

Yes, however they verify once through the Xertilox Wallet on their phone and reuse that credential whenever they move between operators.

What about agency and subcontract drivers?

They verify once through the Xertilox Wallet and share their credential with consent when they move between operators. On Compliance, checks are priced per run. On Xertilox HR, checks are included in your seat price, subject to our fair usage policy. From October 2026 the Right to Work obligation for agency drivers sits with you, and Xertilox covers it.

How long does it take to perform a check?

Around 60 seconds. Once the request is sent and the driver confirms in their wallet, the check runs in real time and the result lands on the record in about a minute.

How long does it take to set up?

For Compliance, most clients are up and running in around 30 minutes. For Xertilox HR, you will be fully set up in days, not months.

Can I produce audit-ready evidence on demand?

Yes. Every check is stored against the driver record and exportable in seconds for audits, insurers and compliance reviews.
